Who Are The Best FPL Players To Own For GW10?

Here are my FPL Way Picks for Gameweek 10 for the 2021-22 season. The deadline for GW10 is on Saturday 30th October at 18:30 BST (a.k.a. my Birthday).

I will be building a team that I feel will perform well in Gameweek 10. This team uses £98.7m of the £100m budget.

Here are the fixtures for Gameweek 10

The FPL XV – Who Are the Best Assets to Own in GW10?

Here we are again with my weekly Scout Picks, so how was GW9 for you? It was a very interesting week for sure; which ended up with a total of 40 Premier League goals! If you had Salah, Mount, and Foden in your team; I’m sure you’re living the dream right now…

That being said, we move on with our picks for Gameweek 10. Can Salah continue his amazing form? (honestly, I’m getting to the point where I feel he’s just my set and forget captain for the entire season now).

Before I begin, let’s have a look at the top 10 players who have received the most FPL points this season:

PlayerFPL Points
Salah 107
Antonio 57
Vardy 57
Son 53
Alexander-Arnold 51
Cancelo 51
Benrahma 50
Mané 50
Tielemans 47
Townsend 47

It’s pretty amazing that Salah has almost accumulated double the points of the second-highest scoring player right?

My Gameweek 10 Selection

Goalkeeper

Illan Meslier (5.0m)

Norwich vs Leeds

Norwich had now only scored 2 goals in 9 GW’s, and they haven’t scored since GW5 in their 3-1 defeat to Watford. For that reason, I’m certainly backing Leeds to get a clean sheet in this fixture. You could also argue that Leeds have only kept one clean sheet this season, but even so, I’m confident this will become their second which is why I’m backing this man for this fixture.

Defenders

Benjamin Chilwell (5.8m)

Newcastle vs Chelsea

Since returning to Chelsea’s backline in GW7, Chilwell has accumulated 35 points which is an average of a very impressive 11.6 points per game! Chelsea faces Newcastle away and then Burnley at home in their next two fixtures and this guy is definitely worth keeping an eye on. To add to that, he’s scored in every appearance so far this season, can he make it 4 out of 4?

João Pedro Cavaco Cancelo (6.3m)

Man City vs Crystal Palace

A Man City player who has played the whole 90 minutes in every Gameweek so far this season is definitely a no brainer for me. I do often worry that eventually he will be rested with the old Pep Roulette, but so far, he’s the most nailed on City defender that’s for sure. With 6 clean sheets, 2 assists and 6 bonus points, he definitely looks to be a quality pick in this home fixture against a weak Palace side.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (7.5m)

Liverpool vs Brighton

He’s the most expensive defender in FPL, but he’s most certainly worth it. It’s now two clean sheets on a trot since he’s recovered from injury. In the last fixture, Liverpool beat Man Utd 5-0, not only was it impressive that Liverpool kept a clean sheet, but Trent got an assist from it as well.

Midfielders

Phil Foden (8.1m)

Man City vs Crystal Palace

In the last 3 GW’s, Foden has accumulated 31 points with 3 goals and 2 assists and I really can’t see him being dropped to the bench for this fixture. He’s definitely looking to be one of the players I’ll be looking to transfer in this Gameweek that’s for sure. I’ve always been a fan of players when they are in form and I feel confident he will get an attacking return here.

Mohamed Salah (12.8m)

Liverpool vs Brighton

Should we just captain him now for the rest of the season? Wow, 3 goals and an assist against Man Utd came as quite the surprise, but really did we expect anything less from the Egyptian god?

I’m just going to leave these stats here for this guy, so in 9 Gameweeks, Salah is the:

  • Top Premier League Goal Scorer with 10 goals
  • 2nd on Assists with 6
  • Has an average of 11.6 points per game
  • Has already accumulated 107 points this season, nearly double to second place which is Vardy with 57

As of writing, he’s currently only 66.9% owned. My question is, how do 33.1% of managers now own him?

Heung-Min Son (10.2m)

Spurs vs Man Utd

I think both Spurs and Man Utd definitely need to recover from their defeats in GW9 and I can honestly see there being a fair few goals in this match up. To add to this, Son would be a great long-term selection since their fixtures start to ease after this game. Son has still provided 2 goals and 2 assists in the last 4 Gameweeks and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he added another to his tally of attacking returns; even in this home fixture.

Mason Mount (7.4m)

Newcastle vs Chelsea

What a quality player this young lad is and what a beauty of a game he had in their 7-0 victory against Norwich. He scored 3 goals and provided 1 assist and I can’t see Tuchel having any plans of benching him any time soon (especially with Lukaku and Werner currently out with injuries). I for sure feel he will get an attacking return in this fixture, especially since Newcastle has conceded the second-most goals in the Premier League (20).

Forwards

Armando Broja (5.0m)

Watford vs Southampton

You could say Broja is my differential pick, especially since he is only 1.3% owned. He’s scored twice in his last 2 matches (8 points each game) and we all know Watford can leak in a goal or two. For only £5.0, he’s quite the enabler and definitely someone worth keeping an eye on.

Ivan Toney (6.5m)

Burnley vs Brentford

A bit of a risky pick this one but I simply couldn’t ignore their upcoming fixtures. In the next 3 Gameweeks, Brentford faces Burnley, Norwich and Newcastle and this guy definitely has to start getting some returns. The guy provided 31 goals and 10 assists last season in the Championship Divison and I’m pretty sure he’s due some attacking returns, especially in these generous fixtures.

Joshua King (5.5m)

Watford vs Southampton

Another very differential player here with only 1.2% ownership. He scored a hat-trick in Watford’s 5-2 Away win against Everton on Saturday and I bet he’ll be hungry for more in this home fixture. With Dennis out on a suspension, you know he’ll start and it wouldn’t surprise me if he got a few more attacking returns.

Our Bench Picks

Ben Foster (4.0m)

Pure bench fodder, you can’t complain about a 4.0m player who is their number one GK at the moment, right? I probably say this every week, but he’s a great enabler.

Demarai Gray (5.8m)

He’s scored 3 and assisted twice so far this season and for 5.8m, you can’t really complain. I have a feeling this man will start getting a few returns again and it could well be again in this away fixture to Wolves.

Tino Livramento (4.3m)

This budget defender is a great pick at only 4.3m, especially since he’s scored, provided an assist and kept 3 clean sheets so far this season. When he doesn’t get a clean sheet, he’s been providing me with an attacking return; absolutely love this man.

Liam Cooper (4.5m)

Another enabler defender here really and they face Norwich away which is the easiest defensive fixture for Gameweek 10. He’s the most nailed on Leeds defender and this could well be a clean sheet for Leeds.
