With the volatility of fixtures at this current time, there have been many postponements which have, and will, result in DGW’s going forward.
If I were to activate the Free Hit today, this would be my draft for DGW22.
de Gea has performed very well this season and garnered many save points – with the AVL/ BRE fixtures I expect the Spaniard to continue his form.
The average of 3.68 saves per game is very appealing, coupled with the double fixtures.
Despite just having the SGW, I believe TAA could perform very well vs BRE.
With 11 attacking returns so far, I expect Trent to continue the creativity vs BRE and expect a clean sheet as a minimum return.
With Chilwell out for the foreseeable future, Alonso is expected to start both games and has looked threatening with his advanced positioning.
The above heatmap is from the last 3 x GW’s which shows a preference for the attacking left areas. Alonso will likely continue these kind of patterns in DGW22.
I have been very impressed with the LB this season. He is nailed in the team and assured on and off the ball.
Brighton have been very difficult to breakdown defensively this season, I would not be surprised if they added to their 6 x CS this GW.
With Mane and Salah at the AFCON, I feel Jota is essential to have for this GW. Despite having a SGW, the Portuguese has shown to be threatening in every game – I expect him to have opportunities vs BRE.
With a fantastic return of 56 points from his last 6 apps, Maddison is a gamble worth taking for the DGW. He is the creative protagonist of the LEI team and many of the attacking patterns go through the Englishman.
Like Maddison, another ‘punt’ for the DGW considering the challenging fixtures vs MCI & BRI respectively.
However, with starting each of the last 8 games (4 gls & 3 asts) for CHE, I am confident that Mason could return well for FPL managers as he also takes many of the set-pieces.
With his most recent haul vs NOR, I think Bowen is one of the best SGW players to own for DGW22.
With the above touch map from his DGW21 performances, I expect a similar ilk of positioning from Jarrod. Coupled with his excellent form, I would highly recommend selecting the WHU asset.
I have not been impressed at all from the eye-test in the last 3 fixtures. However, I expect Ronaldo to be the most captained player. Thus, to protect EO, I would strongly advocate the Portuguese.
On paper, WAT have the best DGW fixtures and Dennis is the main striker for the team. This is a ‘no-brainer’ in my opinion and a certain selection in my FH team.
Despite the loss of Son, Kane is still one of the most explosive assets for DGW22. He has recently shown some good form which should entice FPL managers for the fixtures against ARS & LEI.
Upon Conte’s arrival at TOT, I wrote an article (here) about how the Italian manager could unlock Kane to be more devastating inside the penalty area.
In his last appearance vs SOU, Kane positioned himself in the dangerous areas to return. He made penetrating movements into the correct positions to score goals rather than drop-off deeper and provide opportunities.
Foster – Lowton – Mac Allister – B.Willams
Of course, this is subject to change but for updates, check out my Twitter (rey_qur ) for my finalised team.
Good Luck with this GW and please leave your comments below.
